Job description

Description

Founded in 1973, ISG is a nationally recognized, multi-disciplinary firm delivering full-service architecture, engineering, environmental, and planning solutions. We’re excited to grow our Transportation team with the addition of a Senior Traffic Engineer. This position can be based in any ISG office location. We believe we are better together, and this role is designed as an in-office position to support collaboration, mentorship, and team connection across our offices.

In this role, you will work closely with Will Kratt, PE, PTOE, Transportation Business Unit Leader, and Barrett Hubbard, PE, PTOE, Transportation Engineer to lead traffic engineering projects to serve state departments of transportation, city, and private sector clients. This includes evaluating travel demand management and how traffic challenges may be manageable through actions such as thoughtfully planned land use strategies.

We’re proud to support clients across the country with creative, forward-thinking solutions. ISG employee owners are motivated by a shared goal to stretch the limits of great design and go above and beyond to positively influence each other, our clients, and the communities we serve. If this sounds like a mission and culture you want to invest in, explore your career potential within our Transportation team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect traffic data, perform intersection evaluations, complete traffic and corridor studies, and conduct analyses using simulation and modeling software
  • Lead projects in traffic related design including traffic signal and roundabout plans, roadway lighting plans, signing and striping plans, construction staging and traffic control plans
  • Prepare preliminary and final designs and develop construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates
  • Build and strengthen client relationships by actively listening and understanding their goals, priorities, and expectations
  • Act as a technical resource within the organization, providing expertise and guidance on transportation projects
  • Serve as a mentor and leader for local internal ISGers that demonstrates a high degree of professionalism
  • Support additional initiatives and responsibilities as assigned to contribute to team and organizational success

We’ve listed a compensation range that reflects our expectations for this role, including both direct and indirect components. We understand that your experience and value may fall outside of this range. If you feel you're a strong fit but your compensation needs differ, we’re open to a conversation—let’s talk.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in civil engineering or related fields
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related discipline
  • PE licensed, required
  • PTOE certification, preferred

Benefits

  • Medical, dental, and vision
  • Paid time off, pro-rated amount available on your start date
  • Paid holidays and paid volunteer time
  • Paid parental leave
  • Bi-annual profit sharing
  • Employee Ownership Stock Plan (ESOP)
  • 401K retirement plan
  • Life insurance
  • HSA and FSA options
  • Bereavement leave
  • Supplemental voluntary benefits
  • Short term and long-term disability
  • Parking reimbursement, varies on office location
  • Cell phone plan reimbursement
  • Mileage reimbursement for ISG-approved travel
We are 100% owned by our employees! ISG's Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) allows for broader ownership, the ability to be directly connected to performance, and our culture of accountability and opportunism is amplified. Put simply, everyone works hard = everyone benefits, not just an elite group.

We are focused on strengths, using those talents to guide personal development and team collaboration. We are involved in our communities and lead through empowerment. Firm growth is a direct reflection of the dedication, ingenuity, and hard work each ISG owner brings to the office and field every day.

ISG's growth and sustainability are based on the unwavering belief that we need to grow for the betterment of our people and firm. We are entrepreneurial. We believe in having the right people onboard and being disciplined during good times and when faced with new challenges. And most importantly, we foster growth through positive mentorship and progressive ideas that lead to strategic, contextual based decisions. We believe that this unwavering commitment to our culture, clients, and dynamic qualities translates to better services for our partners, and that it will continue to guide ISG's future.
