Description
Summary
In alignment with Gift of Life Michigan's core purpose and core values, the Manager, Organ Services, manages the organ services staff, assists with the development and implementation of department goals and objectives, and is actively involved in all aspects of the organ donation process.
Duties & Responsibilities
The following job duties and responsibilities are stated in broad terms and not intended to be inclusive. Those in bold are essential duties of the position :
- E nsure compliance with applicable regulations and internal policies in conjunction with development of evidence based best practice standards.
- Maintain expertise associated with on-site organ and tissue donor evaluation and retrieval practices such as donor physiological management, organ preservation, staffing, and organ allocation and distribution logistics.
- Respond to potential donor referrals for evaluation of clinical staff performance.
- Provide technical assistance with after-hours consultation as needed.
- In collaboration with the Performance Improvement department, collect and analyze data related to all aspects of the Organ Services department such as staffing, authorization rates, organs recovered per donor, organs transplanted per donor, onsite hours, and staff adherence to established protocols and guidelines.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
