Job descriptionMust be an upbeat self-starter with a stable work history in a distribution center or warehouse. Punctual with good attendance. Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. Physical demandsMust be able to stand and / or walk for extended periods of time.Must be able to twist, squat reach above shoulder level and crouch on a frequent basis.Must be able to use proper lifting techniques to safely lift up to 50 pounds Must be fluent in written and spoken English.
Description
The shipping lead will act as the subject matter expert in support of the department, supervisor, and DC Manager. They will be the team “go-to” for procedural-related guidance.
- Complete the pre-shift checklist (ex. turn on chucks, gather supplies and materials, etc.).
- Work in coordination with the supervisor to assign daily priorities and participate in shift meetings.
- Partner with the supervisor to identify the root cause of the exception and QC diverts. Communicate all performance issues to the supervisor.
- Inspect outbound shipments to ensure accuracy and quality.
- Track quality variances and identify when other process improvements are needed.
- Partner with on-site trainers to mentor new employees. Ensure SOPs and DC policies are being followed.
- Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area.
- Dress Code-Specifics Required
- Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse.
- Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety and complies with OSHA and other appropriate standards.
- When volume demands, pick customer orders for shipment, and ensure that the correct number and type of product is picked. Assemble orders for shipment.
