Job Title: Project Engineer
Job Description
This position is for the product engineering group, focusing on managing localization or new work within the APQP process to ensure customer satisfaction and meet stringent automotive deadlines. The role involves design-heavy tasks, project management, and working with various design software like Catia. Travel to customer sites and potentially international locations is expected, and a BSME degree is a must.
Responsibilities
- Manage localization or new work within the APQP process to ensure customer satisfaction and meet automotive deadlines.
- Engage in design-heavy tasks and project management.
- Work with various design software like Catia.
- Travel to customer sites and potentially international locations.
- Create 3D models, 2D drawings, and BOMs with advanced use of CAD tools such as NX, CATIA, and SolidWorks.
- Support APQP activities including DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plans, Process Flows, and mass‑production launches.
- Manage design timelines using Gantt charts and coordinate with sales, suppliers, manufacturing, and quality teams.
- Serve as the technical point of contact for OEM customers and internal teams.
- Develop Design & Development Verification Plans and coordinate lab testing, instrumentation, and engineering work orders.
- Compile and communicate test results to customers.
- Apply strong interpersonal and written communication skills to manage multiple priorities and make decisions in fast-paced or high‑pressure environments.

- Strong experience in designing mechanical systems and components.
- Solid working knowledge of GD&T.
- Understanding of automotive powertrain or driveline systems.
- Experience in supporting APQP activities.
- Ability to manage design timelines using Gantt charts.
- Coordination with cross-functional teams.
- Experience in testing, validation, and technical documentation.
- Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
- Critical thinking and decision-making skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's in Engineering (Mechanical preferred).
Work Environment
This is an onsite position with a flexible first shift schedule.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Chicopee, MA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $120000.00/yr.
