OR Tech Job Summary Operating Room Technician needed for a travel assignment in Bakersfield, CA. The OR Tech will be responsible for assisting surgeons and nurses in the operating room, preparing surgical instruments and equipment, and maintaining a sterile environment. Must have 2 years of experience and be proficient in a wide range of surgical specialties, excluding Cardiothoracic. Key Responsibilities Assisting surgeons and nurses during surgical procedures. Preparing and sterilizing surgical instruments and equipment. Maintaining a sterile operating room environment. Anticipating the needs of the surgical team. Rotating through all surgical specialties except Cardiothoracic. Participating in on-call duties, including weekdays and weekends. Assisting in other areas like L&D during emergencies if needed. Adhering to hospital cancellation and holiday work policies. Required Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of OR Tech experience. Proficiency in General, Ortho (totals, fractures), Neuro (cranis), Gyn, Burn, Robotics, Urology, Vascular, Plastics, Endovascular, Podiatry, Ortho/Spine, ENT, and Organ Procurement cases. BLS Certification Must have license to submit. Preferred Qualifications Pediatric experience. Skills & Competencies Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and techniques. Ability to maintain a sterile environment. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment. Flexibility to rotate through various surgical specialties. Shift Details 12-hour day shifts (0630-1900 or 0530-1800 based on surgeon start time), with flexibility required. Every Other Weekend (EOW). First to Float. Call required. Possible 8-hour shifts (0630-1500 or 0530-1400 based on surgeon start time). Licensing Requirements Surgical Tech Certification
