This position is eligible for Eskaton's health benefits package the first of the month following 60 days of employment and Paid Time Off benefits program after 90 days of employment.
Position Summary :
The Area Wellness Nurse (AWN) is responsible for monitoring and overseeing the nursing care and staff training for Eskaton communities. This may include direct resident care, and partnering and consultation with other disciplines. This position will participate in Care Coordination Meetings (CCM) and staff meetings as able. Timely communication with health care providers, Eskaton support staff, and other community persons as needed or directed is essential. The AWN will need to function autonomously with the ability to work with little to no direct supervision and will be self-directed to maintain an appropriate work calendar and meet the objectives of the position in a timely manner. Travel is required for this positon.
The starting salary for this position ranges from $32.00 to $45.00 / hour. Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education / training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered.

Qualifications
Education : Valid California Licensed Vocational Nursing certificate or Registered Nurse license. Current CPR certification. Instructor CPR / First Aid certification obtained within 6 months of hire.
Training and Experience :
Two + years of experience as an RN / LVN; one year in home health, assisted living, or long-term care required. Supervisory experience preferred.
Knowledge and Abilities : Possesses an in-depth knowledge of comprehensive nursing care which includes : clinical disease entities, the physical assessment skills required for initial and follow-up appraisal of all assigned residents, resident treatments, specialized diets, and medication regime for individuals. Must have knowledge of disease prevention components, focusing on well-being in the aging process. Possess the ability to document professional nursing services provided with a realistic plan for reaching short and long term goals, and to be able to make decisions regarding safety needs of residents including adequate equipment.
The final candidate must successfully pass Eskaton's post offer, pre-employment testing which includes a criminal background check, drug test, COVID test, TB screen test and health screen. All new hires are required to sign an arbitration agreement as a condition of employment.
