Position Overview
This position is responsible for, under general direction, ensures timely processing of workers' compensation claims; evaluates accident reports to determine accuracy and completeness and to ensure adequate investigation;
ensures BELFOR is in compliance with applicable laws and regulations; provides training and guidance to office personnel on proper treatment of workers compensation claims and protocols.
Responsibilities
- Advises and / or assists departments in conducting investigation of accident reports, including interviewing of witnesses and procurement of relevant documentation.
- Reviews accident reports to identify patterns of injury and to determine whether unsafe conditions contributed to the accident;
provides department with information that will aid in reducing accidents and improve safety.
- Review claim status with insurance adjusters
- Timely follow through of information as required to the insurance adjusters
- Provide comprehensive and accurate reporting of claims and statistical data to Regional Safety Managers
- Effectively communicate policies and "rules of the road" to employees and managers
- Maintaining an organized workspace to ensure all incoming and outgoing communication is managed timely and professionally
- Attend BELFOR sponsored operations and safety training courses as required
Duties
- Assist offices with completion of internal accident reports as well as State required forms
- Monitor and assist offices with vehicle repairs / rental vehicles
- Monitor and assist offices with total loss settlement processes
- Monitor and maintain required automobile accident claim files
- Data entry into claims software
- Assist with driving complaint notifications and follow up
- Work with fleet management company on necessary vehicle information
- Complies faces and data regarding accident reports and files cases
- Comprehensive understanding of customer service, principles and practices
- Work under time constraints to meet specific timelines
- Attention to detail and keen sense of safeguarding other people's property and information
Qualifications
- An Associates' Degree in business or related field.
- Discretion and confidentiality required
- Knowledge of RiskConsole, Intelliris, and Risx-facs preferred
- Ability to work as a team in a rapidly changing environment
- Microsoft Office (strong emphasis in Word & Excel)
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced office environment
- English language literacy & fluency
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Physical Demands
- Occasional lifting from 5-40 lbs, unassisted (from 0-15% of the time)
- Sitting for extended periods of time
- Manual dexterity needed for keyboarding and other repetitive tasks
- The ability to bend, crouch, or stand as necessary.
- Ability to use mobile devices for purposes of collecting and transmitting data as needed
