Job Overview

Serve as liaison between the Office of Equal Opportunity and University of Cincinnati students, employees, and stakeholders.

Triage reports of alleged misconduct as they come into the office. Provide support for students and employees by connecting them to appropriate resources.

Essential Functions

  • Provide operational, administrative, and clerical support to the Executive Director for Equal Opportunity and Equal Opportunity staff.
  • Triage and conduct preliminary assessment, assignment, and tracking of reports of alleged discrimination and harassment.
  • Manage office inquiries, scheduling, information requests, and the Equal Opportunity inbox.
  • Send and track outreaches to reporters, complainants, and respondents.
  • Gather, manage, and maintain sensitive data including reports, resolutions, outcomes, supportive measures, and education / outreach.
  • Develop a knowledge base in civil rights law including Title IX, Title VI, Title VII, affirmative action, and equal opportunity laws and regulations.
  • Supervise, develop, and evaluate student workers and placements.
  • Create accessible strategic communications, reports, websites, and other internal and external communications.
  • Prepare reports, communications, and other materials as requested by the Executive Director.
  • Perform related duties based on departmental need. This job description can be changed at any time.

Required Education

Bachelor's Degree

Required Trainings / Certifications

Title IX-related training or certification through a nationally recognized organization

Required Experience

  • Three (3) years of relevant experience
  • Demonstrated organizational abilities and experience managing complex situations, records, data, and reports
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Knowledge of civil rights laws, in particular Title IX, Title VI, and Title VII
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with individuals of varied professional, educational, and experiential levels within a multi-faceted organization

Additional Qualifications Considered

  • Master’s degree or terminal degree in a relevant field
  • Experience responding to reports of discrimination and harassment
  • Experience in data management and office management
  • Prior experience in an institution of higher education
  • Experience creating accessible and strategic communications, reports, websites, and other internal and external communications

Physical Requirements / Work Environment

Office environment / no specific unusual physical or environmental demands.
