Position Description

McKesson is looking for a Lead AI Engineer to join its growing Generative AI team. You will work on greenfield projects within a flexible team with a start-up feel but with the financial backing of a successful corporation.

You will have the ability to shape the products and make a real impact to the lives of others by creating the next generation of AI powered tools.

Responsibilities

We’re looking for a strong, experienced developer with a DevOps mindset who can bring an application from inception to production ensuring maintainability, quality, security and performance.

The successful candidate will be expected to understand how to build, test, deploy and monitor enterprise grade applications using best practices.

An accomplished communicator both verbal and written

Understanding of agile and software development life cycle concept

Work as part of the development team to break down high level requirements into small, testable, releasable components

Create effective automated tests

Be able to work on several projects simultaneously

Experience of working in a team-orientated, collaborative environment

Ability to work to tight deadlines

Provide support for critical applications running in a production environment

Mentor colleagues as needed

Have fun! contribute towards a productive yet fun team environment

Minimum Requirements :

Typically requires 10+ years of experience of relevant experience

Critical Skills :

In depth knowledge / experience with the following :

Python / Java

Azure Cloud

CI / CD using tools such as GitHub Actions

Automated testing

Docker and Kubernetes

Rest APIs

Authentication and Authorization frameworks

Databases (relational and non-relational)

Software development security fundamentals

Additional Experience :

Azure AI services

Generative AI and Large Language Models

Infrastructure as code e.g. Terraforma

Linux admin

Scripting e.g. Bash

Education :

Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science) or equivalent experience

As part of Total Rewards, we are proud to offer a competitive compensation package at McKesson. This is determined by several factors, including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets.

In addition to base pay, other compensation, such as an annual bonus or long-term incentive opportunities may be offered.

Our Base Pay Range for this position

$144,900 - $241,500
