A dynamic school district in Chester, PA, in partnership with Soliant Education, is seeking an enthusiastic Middle School English Teacher to join their team for the remainder of the school year.
This role is ideal for individuals who are committed to creating an engaging and supportive classroom environment that encourages students to appreciate English language and literature.
Responsibilities :
- Design and implement engaging lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and foster a love for English language arts.
- Encourage critical thinking and discussion around various genres of literature, composition, and rhetoric.
- Utilize a variety of instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs and learning styles of students.
- Conduct assessments to monitor students progress, providing feedback and adapting instruction to support continuous learning and improvement.
- Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
- Maintain discipline in accordance with school policies and establish clear expectations for classroom behavior.
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and the school community to support student growth and the broader educational mission.
- Participate in professional development opportunities and stay current with best practices in English education.
Qualifications :
- Bachelors Degree in English, Education, or a related field, with a focus on English / Language Arts. Masters Degree preferred.
- Valid teaching certification for Middle School English in Pennsylvania or the ability to obtain certification before the contract begins.
- Previous experience as a Middle School English Teacher or in a similar educational role is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of English literature and language arts curriculum and pedagogy.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong interpersonal abilities.
- Organized, reflective, and proactive in planning and instruction.
- Demonstrated ability to create an inclusive, engaging, and motivating classroom environment.
