Overview

The Atlantic Council’s Digital Forensic Research Lab seeks a strong project manager with a team-oriented approach for a role as an Associate Director to support the management of our growing capacity building portfolio.

The candidate will be responsible for managing the timeline, milestones, and deliverables of our Digital and Cyber Policy Trainings project.

A competitive candidate will have the ability to synthesize tech policy issues into tailored educational and networking experiences for diverse audiences, as well as engage key stakeholders and constituencies.

This position is can be based in our Washington DC headquarters on a hybrid schedule or remote within the US. Pay is commensurate with experience, education, and organizational equity, with offers starting at $65,000.

Job responsibilities

Project Management

  • Manage the project timeline associated with Digital and Cyber Policy Trainings project, tracking project milestones and deliverables.
  • Track the development and delivery of curriculum materials developed by DFRLab staff, fellows and consultants.
  • Support the execution of trainings and relevant programming in coordination with Assistant Director, Events and other DFRLab staff.
  • Identify synergies for DFRLab-wide capacity building deliverables.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Manage and execute day-to-day interactions with stakeholders and partners, in close coordination with Director, Capacity Building & Communities.
  • Prepare for and lead coordination meetings with stakeholders and partners.

Capacity Building & Training

  • Synthesize key tech policy challenges and issues into tailored educational and networking experiences for diverse audiences.
  • Collaborate with DFRLab staff on the creation of training curriculum, educational materials, and event agendas.
  • Identify opportunities for the integration of cross-program capacity building events and support the coordination of programming.
  • Operationalize varied capacity building efforts across the DFRLab.

Qualifications

  • Seeking 3-5 years of professional experience in public policy, education and capacity building, or cybersecurity.
  • Strong project management and coordination skills for managing complex projects.
  • Interest in tech policy, ICT regulation, and capacity building.
  • Ability to craft educational and training materials and develop trainings for diverse audiences.
  • Poise and professionalism when representing the Atlantic Council to stakeholders and other external constituencies, including senior officials, board directors, donors, and individual and corporate members.
  • Capacity to synthesize key tech policy challenges and issues into tailored educational and networking experiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fluid environment and multi-task to address concurrent needs in a highly collaborative team.
  • Willingness to travel internationally on occasion and work extended hours.
  • Intercultural competencies, as well as communication and interpersonal skills.
