Overview
Red Coats Inc., a Janitorial Service provider in Bethesda, MD, is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist. This position exists to perform accounting and clerical tasks related to efficient maintenance and processing of accounts payable transactions.
Reviews and processes invoices, checks requests, monitors accounts to ensure payments are up to date, and resolves invoice discrepancies.

Responsibilities
- Manage AP Inbox for Red Coats
- Filter and route invoices to corresponding engineers for approval.
- Once invoices are approved for payment, prepare batches to be paid according to the corresponding accountant.
- Cut checks once batches are approved by accountants and posted for payment (check runs occur on a weekly basis)
- Publish analytics and provide check run summaries to management.
- Consolidate statements to make sure we’re up to date and there are no missing invoices.
- Contact vendors to request missing invoices, W-9, and COI forms.
- Download invoices from vendor websites.
- Keep track of bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly bills to make sure they’re not paid late.
Qualifications
- Must have excellent Excel, Microsoft Office, and computer skills.
- Experience in Large Volume Accounts Payable is a must.
- 5 years’ experience is needed.
- Lawson's experience is a plus.
- AP experience is a MUST.
