Job Description Summary

We are seeking a Product Owner to be a part of the fast moving, Casualty product team. We build enterprise class, hosted solutions that cover multiple physical tiers and service thousands of end-users.

This is a great opportunity for a highly motivated person interested in designing and developing modern software solutions for our applications and partners.

Our First Party Casualty solution automates and expedites the bill review process for our insurance customers. It applies an intelligent rule engine based on insurer-specific rules to process claims data quickly and segment payment-ready bills from the manual review ones.

Job Duties

In this role, you will work with a cross functional agile team consisting of skilled Software Engineers, QA Analysts, other Product Owners, and other disciplines to deliver highly scalable solutions.

You will contribute to the cloud that supports all our clients, as well as integrations with third parties.

  • Manage the product development process, gather feature requests, schedule releases and coordinate sprints.
  • Groom and prioritize backlog, develop user stories, and define acceptance criteria.
  • Follow progress of work, address production issues during sprints
  • Refine our agile methodology based on results and team feedback / retrospectives.
  • Learn and understand new and existing systems
  • Work closely with other product owners, engineers, and operations to document system flows.
  • Improve systems by studying current practices and designing modifications.
  • Translate technical flows into highly readable non-technical requirements and diagrams.
  • Understanding of UML and ability to leverage it for producing design artifacts.
  • Prepare status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information
  • Ensure efficient on-time delivery of project tasks and milestones.
  • Prepare instruction manuals, runbooks, and other training documentation, as needed.
  • Perform system testing and use acceptance testing, as and when needed.
  • Become a subject matter expert and be able to demonstrate product capabilities.

Qualifications

  • B.S in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or comparable degree.
  • 2+ years of relevant experience as a Product Owner, business analyst or programmer.
  • Experience diagramming technical systems and process / operational flows.
  • Comfortable working without or little oversight to learn and build expertise in the Casualty domain.
  • Capable of distilling, simplifying and crystallizing concept through diagrams and documentation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with relational databases, and able to write queries to perform data analysis.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio or equivalent)
  • Experience interacting with engineering team.
