Senior Accountant

Summary
Our Raleigh, NC based homebuilding Client, is seeking a full-time initiative-driven and self-motivated Senior Accountant to join their team.
This person would be responsible for handling and executing the day-to-day and monthly accounting, including accounts payable.
In addition, this person would assist in financing activities and both internal / external report preparation. This position interacts with management, banks, and staff at all levels both inside and outside the Company.
Main duties include :
- Procure and maintain all construction financing
- Order and renew lot and construction appraisals
- Montor lines of credit and covenants testing
- Manage / own accounts payable process
- Job cost reporting
- Own month-end and year-end full cycle accounting
- Maintain the accuracy of the general ledger
- Prepares financial statements and reports including the profit and loss statement and balance sheet
- Prepare and report cash flow projections
- Assist with tax return and audit preparation
- Assist with budget creation and oversight
- Work closely with the Company’s Controller and Owner in the operation and reporting of Company financial performance
Other duties include :
- Assist in processing of employee expense claims
- Set up new vendors and jobs in system
- Monitor AP / AR accounts
- Reconcile homeowner deposit and trust account
- Maintain and enforce business policies and procedures
- Assist management with budget oversight, financial and cash-flow planning
Ideal Candidate Requirements :
- Minimum two-year degree in Accounting
- 3 5 year of accounting experience preferred
- Strong accounting skills required
- Excellent communication and proficient computer skills including Microsoft Excel
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- Enjoy multi-tasking and working in a team-oriented environment
- Must be reliable and dedicated to the entire company
- Ability to translate work output and problem-solving solutions to Ownership and Third Parties
- Construction and / or Job Cost Accounting experience is not required but would be a plus and preferred
- Experience with Sage 300 a plus, but not required
