Sr Software Engineer - Frontend

Job Summary

The primary purpose of this role is to translate business requirements and functional specifications into logical program designs and to deliver code modules, stable application systems, and software solutions.

This includes developing, configuring, or modifying complex integrated business and / or enterprise application solutions within various computing environments.

This role facilitates the implementation and maintenance of complex business and enterprise software solutions to ensure successful deployment of released applications.

Front End Senior Software Engineer

In this specific role, we are looking for an engineer to join a growing team to build new applications as well as maintain and improve existing experiences across our portfolio of CI and CD platform applications.

Compute platform provides runtime environment and toolsets required to build, deploy and manage the application life-cycle.

Applications are not just limited to experiences built for our business but also touches the micro services, database engines, messaging & rules engines.

What You’ll Do

Build frontend applications and integrate with backend services using technologies and languages including but not limited to : React, Redux, NodeJS, JAVA, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Micro-Frontend architecture.

Deploy the applications to Lowe’s hosted data centers or the cloud using technologies and languages including but not limited to : Docker, Kubernetes, Google Cloud Platform

Performance tuning and optimizing applications, for faster response times. Support the applications using data using technologies and languages including but not limited to : Grafana, Kibana.

Who You Are

A software engineer already familiar with front end and back end technologies.

Demonstrated the ability to deliver quality, well-documented code.

Able to lead software projects and mentor more junior engineers.

Perform code reviews and provide technical guidance to your team.

Demonstrate software solutions to technical leaders and business / product stakeholders.

Where You’ll Be

Associates are required to relocate to the Charlotte region to foster collaboration and facilitate improved testing and support.

Lowe’s supports a Flex Office concept where in-person work is required two days per week at the Charlotte Tech Hub

Most business meetings are planned around the Eastern time zone.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, CIS, or related field (or equivalent work experience in a related field)
• 5 years of experience in software development or a related field
• 4 years of experience in database technologies
• 4 years of experience building UI using React and NodeJS with proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML and CSS
• 4 years of experience working on project(s) involving the implementation of solutions applying development life cycles (SDLC)
• 3 years of experience with REST APIs, Spring boot
• 3 years of experience with Cloud technologies

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Computer Science, CIS, or related field
• 5 years of IT experience developing and implementing business systems within an organization
• 5 years of experience working with defect or incident tracking software
• 5 years of experience writing technical documentation in a software development environment
• 3 years of experience working with an IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) framework
• 3 years of experience leading teams, with or without direct reports
• 5 years of experience working with source code control systems
• Experience working with Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment tools, Docker, Kubernetes
• 5 years of experience in systems analysis, including defining technical requirements and performing high level design for complex solutions
