We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Process and Application Engineer specializing in innovative resource recovery solutions.

The successful candidate will play a key role in providing technical expertise, process optimization, and project support.

This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects and contribute to the development of sustainable resource recovery infrastructure, including pioneering anaerobic biotechnology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support Engineering Team design and optimization of resource recovery facilities (RRFs), including anaerobic bioreactor and aerobic treatment design, biogas cleaning and conditioning systems, and nutrient removal processes.
  • Conduct process evaluations, feasibility studies, and site assessments at client sites to identify opportunities for implementation, optimization, and improvement at RRFs.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to clients, consultants, and internal teams on process design as well as application- and discipline-specific requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including sales, development, and project management to develop customized solutions and address customer needs effectively.
  • Develop detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation (e.g., P&IDs, PFDs, HMBs, Equipment lists, datasheets) for resource recovery projects, aimed at maximizing bioenergy generation and reliability as well as ensuring safe and compliant operations.
  • Occasionally support trials to optimize performance as well as troubleshoot operational issues.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, I&E, I&C, Chemical, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
  • 15+ years of relevant experience in process engineering at all stages of industrial project execution (i.e., FEL 1 through construction, start-up, and operation)
  • Experience with wastewater treatment, preferably of anaerobic digestion principles, biogas production, nutrient removal, and related treatment processes.
  • Proven track record of managing complex engineering projects from conception to completion, including budgeting, scheduling, and risk management.
  • Ability to perform comprehensive bid analysis inclusive of scope, cost, schedule, and quality proposal evaluation on complex contracts.
  • Strong prioritization skills with the ability be flexible and operate in a complex, rapidly changing business environment with tight schedules and demanding targets.
  • Strong proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., BioWin, GPS-X) and familiarity with CAD software for engineering design.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, analytical abilities, and attention to detail.
  • Positive, collaborative team attitude.
  • Effective communication skills able to effectively convey technical concepts orally and in writing to a broad range of work groups and stakeholders internally and externally.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or eligibility for licensure is preferred.
  • Preference may be given to candidates with the following : Experience with construction of industrial scale RRFs, anaerobic digestion, and renewable natural gas (RNG) facilities;

Understanding of electricity and RNG markets; Industrial food manufacturing experience specifically related to wastewater systems.

Travel :

  • Based in our Headquarters in Salem, NH possibility of hybrid or remote
  • Typical travel 25-50%
