Job description
The Process Engineer is responsible for analyzing, developing, and optimizing manufacturing processes to improve productivity, quality, safety, and cost efficiency. Working closely with the Manufacturing Manager and cross-functional teams, this role identifies inefficiencies, implements process improvements, and ensures smooth integration of new technologies, equipment, and procedures.
Duties:
Including but not limited to:
  • Analyze current production procedures, workflows, and standards to identify inefficiencies and implement improvements.
  • Optimize processes to reduce costs, minimize waste, improve quality, and increase productivity while maintaining safety and compliance.
  • Spend time on the production floor evaluating employee and machinery workflows for continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting expertise to resolve process-related issues.
  • Develop and maintain documentation related to processes, including APQP, machine setup and operation instructions, tooling and gage instructions, and work instructions.
  • Support product design teams by ensuring manufacturability, safety, and productivity in both new and existing designs.
  • Identify, procure, and maintain required tools, molds, dies, fixtures, and gages for the assigned manufacturing area.
  • Monitor and analyze process performance metrics such as cycle time, yield, and scrap rates; implement corrective actions to achieve targets.
  • Lead and participate in cross-functional teams to conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive measures.
  • Provide training and guidance to production teams on equipment, procedures, and new processes.
  • Stay current with advancements in process engineering technologies, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Assist in compliance with government requirements (EPA, OSHA, etc.) and company Environmental
  • Management System (EMS) and Quality Management System (QMS) standards.
  • Ensure project completion on specification, within budget, and on time, while providing all required documentation to Maintenance & Facilities teams.
  • Actively promote process improvement to strengthen competitiveness and meet industry standards.
  • Attend and contribute to product design reviews and cross-functional meetings.
  • Interact with internal and external stakeholders to support successful process implementation.
