The Management Department within Oregon Tech’s College of Engineering, Technology, and Management (ETM), prepares students to lead boldly in the field of Management via engaging curriculums delivered by accomplished faculty.
The successful incumbent will regularly put theory into practice, delivering core business and management competencies focused, but not limited to the field of Operations, through effective communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills within the Management Department and it’s associated programs.
The successful incumbent will embody and facilitate access and opportunity through the provision of an educational experience which prepares students from all walks of life through a demonstrated commitment to providing the support necessary to ensure students have the knowledge and skills to succeed in, and contribute to society, globally.
The successful incumbent for the tenure-track faculty position (Assistant Professor) with a primary focus in Operations Management will demonstrate eagerness in teaching various operations management courses, including operations management, project management, supply chain management, process management, service operation management, and quality assurance.
The successful incumbent will ideally hold a Master Black Belt in Lean Six SIgma. There may also be opportunities to teach other courses in the broad management area.
To note, faculty are also required to provide advising support, engage in scholarly research, professional development, and conduct university service as assigned.
Minimum Requirements Additional Requirements Education Qualification Requirements :
- Ph.D. or D.B.A. in Operations Management, a related field or terminal degree
- or ABD with a credible plan to complete dissertation within 2 or less years);
Experience Qualification Requirements :
- Demonstrated teaching experience;
- Experience with Lean SIgma Six
- Demonstrated knowledge of Operations Management; including, but not limited to : Project managementProcess managementService managementSupply chain management
- A willingness to work collegially with other faculty within the Management Department and College of ETM;
Preferred Qualifications Preferred Qualifications
- Teaching experience in Higher Education
- Preference applicable to those with Master Black Belt in Lean Six Sigma
- Demonstrated industry experience
- Demonstrated research experience
- Ability to teach in-person, hybrid, or online as directed by the Department Chair or Dean
