General Notes

A total of five vacancies are available, with an intended start date no later than January 2024. This position may be filled at a higher-level title, relative to experience and qualifications of the selected candidate.

Purpose

The Senior Mechanical Systems Engineer designs, implements, and executes research related to advancing semiconductor technology and manufacturing.

Responsibilities

Manages research projects, including defining and tracking project goals and milestones and supervising of the work of research team members.

Designs, fabricates, assembles and tests equipment systems.

Researches and coordinates the procurement of various equipment and sub-systems.

Compiles reports on costs and inventory levels.

Required Qualifications

Master’s degree in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, robotics, controls, precision systems engineering, or other relevant disciplines.

Six years’ experience in nanofabrication, precision machine design, mechatronics, systems and controls, instrumentation, roll-to-roll systems development.

Goal-oriented and ability to prioritize and multitask.

Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Demonstrated ability to work successfully in a collaborative team environment.

Ability to work effectively in a dynamic and fast paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Doctoral degree in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, robotics, controls, precision systems engineering, or other relevant disciplines.

Experience working in a research or start-up environment.

Salary Range

$100,000 + depending on qualifications

Working Conditions

Work is performed on-site in a scientific research environment, with dynamic work conditions and frequent interruptions.

Work outside standard office hours could be required on an occasional basis during peak periods and special events.
