General Ledger Accountant

General Ledger Accountant The General Ledger Accountant is accountable for creating journal entries and assembling supporting documentation, as well as for tracking the contents of accounts, creating the financial statements, and writing related disclosures.

They will be responsible for monthly closings, including the preparation of journal entries, account analyses, and reconciliations.

Duties Maintain a master list of monthly journal entries. Record supporting information for all journal entries. Enter all journal entries into the accounting software.

Ensure that reversing entries occur. Create recurring journal entry templates. Ensure that recurring entries are changed or terminated at appropriate trigger points.

Maintain detailed listings of the contents of all balance sheet accounts. Assist auditors with journal entry examinations.

Assist in the production of financial statements. Assist in writing footnotes to the financial statements. Perform duties for Monthly Closings.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities 5+ years of experience performing General Ledger Accountant duties. Thorough knowledge of general accounting methods, principles, and the ability to apply this knowledge.

Experience with completing Monthly Closings. Solid organizational and analytical skill. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to function well in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with competing priorities. Ability to build strong working relationships across the organization.

Education / Experience Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. CPA preferred. Working knowledge of Accounting Software packages, Sage AccPac strongly preferred.

Strong PC skills to include Microsoft Office, specifically advanced in Excel. Experience in Telecommunications Industry required, preferably with a focus on Data Center services.

EdgeconneX offers a competitive benefit package. The preferred pay range for this position is $90,000 to $95,000. Compensation will be finalized after consideration of the successful applicant's prior work experience, education level and relevant education, and unique skills.
