Commercial Real Estate Paralegal

Top global law firm's Real Estate department is seeking a real estate paralegal for the firm’s New York office.

Ideal candidates will have 4-6 years of related transactional experience, including financing, purchase and sales transactions, and leasing.

The paralegal will provide organizational and practice-specific assistance to attorneys in all stages of real estate transactions from pre- to post-closing duties.

Candidates should have strong title and survey skills—including negotiating title coverage and endorsements and conducting zoning diligence—as well as experience coordinating closings, managing closing checklists, closing room set-up, signature pages, and document assembly.

Experience with loan documents, real property searches, and preparation of closing and post-closing documents is also required, along with familiarity with general corporate structure.

Requirements:

· Bachelor’s degree.

· 4+ years of experience.

· Ability to prioritize a lot of work and manage a fair amount of responsibility.

· Strong attention to detail.

· Ability to work well in a team environment as well as independently.

· Exceptional communication and client relations skills.

· Well-versed in title and survey review, including negotiating directly with title companies to clear exceptions and obtain required endorsements.

· Experience reviewing and analyzing zoning reports and zoning due diligence.

· Well-versed in coordinating real estate closings, including closing checklists, closing room logistics, signature pages, and document assembly.

· Ability to move fluidly between substantive title, survey and zoning review and closing coordination/administrative work, as transaction volume and workload can vary significantly from deal to deal.

· Ability to work overtime as needed.
