Job Summary
Power and Control Technician - Instrument / Analyzer. Candidate will work in a refinery environment performing calibration, troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining process control instruments.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications Include :
- Basic Maintenance Skills
- Must understand electrical fundamentals
- Must understand electrical / instrument test equipment
- Must understand basic process control fundamentals
- Must understand basic shop equipment
- Must understand precision measurement
- Must be able to work in a refinery environment
- Must be willing to work 8-hour shift schedule in a 24-hour rotation
- Must be able to work weekends, holidays and overtime, as required
- Must be able to work outdoors, climb, and wear SCBA
- Must have experience in analog & digital repairs and calibration
- Must have the ability to read electronic, process, and instrument schematics
- Must have a willingness to assume the individual responsibilities of a Journeyman Instrument Technician
- Must possess the ability to make correct decisions concerning the safety of plant personnel and protection of plant equipment
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Valid Driver's License
- Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) Eligibility
- Eligibility Requirements : The Maritime Transportation Security Act requires all persons who will need unescorted access to a regulated facility to have a valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC), issued in accordance with the rules established by the United States Coast Guard and the Transportation Security Administration.

Preferred Qualifications Include :
- 5+ years of Instrumentation experience
- 5+ years of experience in electronic, hydraulic, mechanical, and pneumatic fields in refining setting with Delta V, PLC, and similar electrical equipment
- Ability to utilize pneumatic along with electronic testing and calibration equipment
- Proficiency in using multi-meters, as well as electronic and pneumatic calibration equipment and other related testing equipment
- Ability to read and understand instrument loop diagrams, as well as P & ID's
- Ability to identify and calibrate various other instrumentation such as Mag Meters, Coriolis Meters, Vortex Meters
- Foundation Fielbus, Profibus, Analyzers (GC, O2, NIR, Area Gas Detector) experience
- Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Associates degree or certificate in instrumentation or related coursework
- Experience Maintaining Control Valves
Job Duties
Install, calibrate, and troubleshoot / repair flow meters along with control valves (temperature transmitters, pressure transmitters, level transmitters, digital valve positioners, LEL / H2S meters) for routine and non-routine maintenance.
Preventative maintenance and frequent inspections on instrumentation. Disassemble and reassemble equipment for inspection, testing, and repair.
Field communication using HART protocol, instrument and valve configurations. Participation in LOTO activities. Willingness to work various shifts and overtime, as needed.
