Thales Defense & Security, Inc. has an opening for an intern within the Software Engineering department for 8 weeks during the summer of 2024.
This position will be responsible for some entry level assignments that will provide exposure to the software job family.
This position is located in the Aurora, IL office and reports to the Software Engineering Manager.
Responsibilities
Intern will be responsible for completing the following assignments successfully
- Developing software in C for embedded Linux system that drives a helmet-mounted display.
- Expanding, maintaining, and fixing bugs in Python for the helmet-mounted display Test Suite.
- Manual testing of software systems.
- Documenting procedures and automating repeated software tasks.

- US Citizenship Required.
- May be selected for work that requires ability to obtain and maintain US Secret Level Security Clearance.
- Must be enrolled in an accredited university of college and have completed at least 2 semesters within Electrical Engineering / Computer Engineering or Computer Science fields.
- Proficient in C / C++.
- Proficient in Python is preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Must be proficient in English both verbal and written.
- Intern must be able to comply with Thales policies, procedures and guidelines.
