Senior Vice President, Scheduling Manager
This Opportunity
WSP is seeking a Senior Vice President, Scheduling Manager to join our Project Controls team. This role can be based out of any WSP USA office.
Position Overview
This individual will lead the scheduling function within the project controls organization, supervising a team of approximately 20 schedulers who support various projects and programs in design and construction phases. This role requires a balance of technical scheduling expertise, client engagement, and leadership skills to manage internal teams, expand service offerings, and drive business growth.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Developing, growing, and overseeing comprehensive scheduling operations across multiple programs and projects, ensuring the effective allocation of resources, and driving continuous improvements in scheduling processes.
- Championing best practices, fostering collaboration, and delivering timely scheduling solutions aligned with client and organizational goals to optimize productivity and meet critical project milestones.
- Developing, managing, and / or overseeing detailed, critical path method (CPM) schedules using Primavera P6 in support of client programs and projects (Transportation & Infrastructure, Power & Energy, Earth & Environment, Federal and Property & Buildings).
- Acting as the primary scheduling subject matter expert when engaging with internal project managers and external clients, providing insights and forecasts to support informed decision-making.
- Leading, mentoring, and developing a team of schedulers; implementing best practices, training, and career development plans.
- Partnering with business development teams to market and sell scheduling services to new and existing clients, as well as to internal project managers.
- Supporting proposal development, scope definition, and pricing of scheduling services.
- Ensuring consistent, high-quality delivery of schedules across multiple projects while balancing competing priorities.
- Driving continuous improvement by implementing tools, processes, and reporting structures to improve efficiency and client satisfaction.
- Growing the scheduling team by recruiting top talent and building scalable capabilities aligned with business demand.
Who You Are
Minimum Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline or equivalent experience.15+ years of experience in developing, managing and reviewing project and program schedules.10+ years of progressive scheduling experience in large-scale capital projects, infrastructure construction.Experience working within large and challenging client programs with one or more project teams.Demonstrated experience leading scheduling teams and managing delivery across multiple projects simultaneously.Strong commercial acumen with experience selling professional services to clients and internal stakeholders.Proven ability to build trusted client relationships and deliver presentations to senior leadership.Exceptional communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.Experience in mentoring, coaching, and growing high-performing teams.Preferred Qualifications :
Professional certifications such as PMI-SP, PSP (AACE), or PMP.Experience with earned value management and integration of cost / schedule controls.Compensation and Benefits :
