ACCOUNTING MANAGER ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes.
• Monitor policies and procedures for assigned departments and identify and suggest improvements for accounting reporting and recording procedures.
• Comply with federal, state, and local financial requirements by studying existing and new legislation and maintaining compliance.
• Continue ongoing education by participating in webinars and workshops.
• Develop staff by managing performance, setting goals, providing ongoing training, and maintaining strong employee relationships.
• Oversee and support timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close, including assigned journal entries, balance sheet account reconciliations, accruals, and overall maintenance of all operational management accounts.
• Maintain efficient General Ledger accounting and Procure-to-Pay systems. Develop and maintain key relationships with business partners and outside vendors.

Provide financial perspective and advice to management team.

• Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Prepare special financial reports as requested by management by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.

Accounting Manager Supervisor Responsibility

This position has supervisory responsibilities.

Accounting Manager Education and Experience

• Bachelors' Degree in accounting, business accounting, or finance.
• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience with a portion of it being in a supervisory role.
• Ability and willingness to maintain confidentiality.
• Familiarity with accounting and corporate finance principles and procedures.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and organize efficiently.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Experience with other financial systems.
• Ability to collaborate across functions.
• Strong financial and general ledger accounting knowledge.
• Strong analytical skills.
