Ambulatory Services Obstetrics and Gynecology Clinic at McCampbellJob DescriptionScope of Position A Medical Assistant is responsible for providing clinical and administrative support to ensure the efficient operation of the medical office or hospital.

This position will support physicians, providers, nurses and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, documentation, and communication with a focus on patient experience, quality, and efficiency.

Position SummaryThe Medical Assistant will support the patient care treatment process by assisting the physicians, nurse practitioners and other clinical staff in the appropriate delivery of patient care services.

The Medical Assistant may be expected to perform multiple advanced clinical support tasks without supervision. Medical Assistants collect and prepare laboratory specimens, dispose of contaminated supplies, and sterilize medical instruments.

This position will arrange examining-room instruments and equipment, maintain supplies and equipment, and keep waiting and examining rooms neat and clean.

The Medical Assistant verifies patient information by interviewing patient; recording medical history; confirming purpose of visit.

This position prepares patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests; taking blood pressure, weight, and temperature;

reporting patient history summary.Minimum Education RequiredHS Graduate or Equivalent or equivalent combination of education and experienceRequired QualificationsFor Hire : High school diploma.

Successful completion of a Medical Assistant training program required. Experience, either on-the-job or via educational program, in the advanced clinical support skills required by the clinical department.

BLS certification is required. Advanced clinical support skill certification desired (i.e. Certified Medical Assistant, phlebotomy, EKG, etc.).
