We are currently seeking an hourly Food Service Aide to join our Midway Childrens Center Team!
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :
- Preparation of food as assigned.
- Maintains food sanitation standards and proper handling of food at all times
- General kitchen operations including cleanup, storage, rotation of stock, and operating institutional appliances.
- Follow safety practices when using equipment and materials.
- Sets up food carts for classrooms and delivers and removes on time.
- Cleans kitchen after each meal; cleans dishes, utensils and cookware and runs dishwasher; sweeps and mops floors, removes garbage.
- Meets all requirements of the Child and Adult Care Food Program, city, state and Head Start Performance standards.
- Maintains records as assigned including production charts, temperature logs and inventory.
- Participates in staff meetings and training sessions as assigned.
- Provides active supervision to ensure the safety of children while in the classroom, during transitions, and while on the playground.
Ensures that no child shall be left alone or unsupervised.
- Ensures the usage of agency technology equipment and time are utilized for agency business.
- Ensures compliance with the agencys code of conduct.
- Ensures agencys fiscal integrity by adhering to purchase approval requirements and procedures.
- Assists in the development of the agencys annual program self-assessment.
- Ensures all content area data is accurately reflected in the agencys Program Information Report within set time frames.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS :
- High school diploma or equivalent, required
- Experience in food service, required
- Certified in Food Service and Sanitation, required
- Ability to follow oral and written instruction.
- Must have regular access to reliable transportation or a reliable vehicle with insurance.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including some evenings and / or weekends if needed.
- Satisfactorily pass a health examination, fingerprint and criminal background check.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS :
- While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee is required to sit and stand for sustained periods of time, frequently talk, hear, use hands and fingers to feel, handle and operate objects or controls, and occasionally stand, bend, stretch, stoop, kneel and crouch.
- The employee is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing and viewing a computer terminal.
- The employee may occasionally lift and / or move up to 50 pounds
