Ice & Events Programming Coordinator
Assist with the administrative and professional work involved in programming, directing, and leading the Ice & Events Center for the City of Cheyenne. Oversee and participate in all work activities as needed.
Plan, direct, organize, and supervise youth and adult sports leagues, tournaments, activities, events, and programs for Ice & Events Center operations for the City of Cheyenne; provide input on policies and procedures for assigned activities. Plan, oversee, and complete activity registration; coordinate and schedule leagues, tournaments, special events as assigned. Assist Ice & Events Manager with event booking and management. Responsible for the creation and maintenance of social media promotions : Oversee and maintain social media accounts. Maintain, approve, and submit payroll time sheets weekly; monitor total hours worked. Provide reports relating to attendance, scheduling, complaints from participants, and evaluations of assigned Ice & Events Center programs, activities, and special events. Coordinate marketing activities with Ice & Events Manager. Responsible for daily accounting procedures including invoicing, deposits, and cash management. Assist in staff scheduling, evaluation, and training; supervise Part-Time staff.
Assist with daily ice maintenance and facility operations. Transfer and setup a variety of light to heavy supplies and equipment in support of assigned activities. Perform other duties and responsibilities as required.
Knowledge of modern and complex principles and practices of Ice & Events Center maintenance and operations. Knowledge of supervision and evaluation principles. Knowledge of public relations principles and practices. Knowledge of modern office procedures, methods, and computer equipment / software. Knowledge of operational characteristics of various athletic equipment and tools. Knowledge of a variety of sport rules, regulations, and procedures. Knowledge of occupational hazards and standard safety principles and procedures. Skills to supervise, organize, and review programs, activities, and special events. Skills to prepare clear and concise reports. Ability to understand and apply pertinent Federal, State, and local laws, codes, and regulations. Ability to interpret and explain policies and procedures. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. Knowledge of social media platforms. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Required : High school diploma or GED and five (5) years of increasingly responsible work experience in recreation, physical education, or related field. CPR and First-aid certifications issued by a nationally recognized agency. Ability to workdays, nights, and weekends. Preferred : Bachelor's degree in recreation or related field; AND three (3) years of experience in a similar field and / or facility. Program / project coordination experience and management / supervisory experience.

Maintain mental capacity which allows the capability of making sound decisions demonstrating intellectual capabilities. Working Environment : Outdoor and indoor environments, irregular working hours, work with or in slippery and uneven surfaces. Exposure to inclement weather and risks associated with the operation of an ice & events facility.
