SUMMARY OF DUTIES
- Under the general supervision of the Director of Special Education or designee, the Administrative Coordinator is responsible for organizing and assembling information on legal matters involving Special Education and Board of Education (Board) policies, relevant state and federal law such as the Individuals with Disability Education Act, Connecticut State Department of Education Bylaws and Regulations;
- establishing and maintaining detailed office records and confidential files; and responding to public information requests related to special education and 504 Plan programming and students with disabilities;
- coordinates and maintains the calendars of key personnel including the district attorney and out-of-district team, contract oversight and financial coordination;
does related work as directed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS : Graduation from an accredited college with at least an associate degree (AS) in paralegal studies or a business concentration and four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in office work OR, any equivalent combination of training, education and experience as described above.
SCOPE OF EXAMINATION : There will not be a written examination. Qualified applicants will be ranked according to their education, training, and experience.
