Assistant Professor / Clinical

The Department of Comprehensive Dentistry at the UT Health San Antonio, School of Dentistry is seeking applications for a full-time faculty at the level of Assistant Professor / Clinical Non-Tenure Track.

These position are focused on providing pre-clinical and clinical instructions to dental students.

Applicants must have a DDS or DMD or foreign equivalent, must have either a Texas Dental license or be Texas license eligible, preferably, but not required, completion of an AEGD or GPR program and / or have extensive broad-based general dentistry clinical experience.

Academic rank and salary are commensurate with education, experience, and qualifications. The duties are course administration and instruction in the preclinical courses and in the clinic.

We employ multiple teaching methods including case-based instruction, large-and small-group discussion, lecture, demonstration, and simulation.

The positions would also include participation in clinical practice of general dentistry.

Retirement- Employees are eligible for either the Teacher Retirement System (TRS) or the Optional Retirement Plan (ORP). TRS is a defined benefit retirement plan which UT Health matches employee contributions.

ORP is for eligible faculty staff employees. Voluntary retirement programs are also available to invest before- or after-tax dollars with the choice of five quality retirement plan providers.

Time Off- A generous leave program offers multiple paid leave options :

Front-loaded Paid Time Off : to hours ( to days) of Paid Time Off based on years of service, given at the start of each fiscal year.

PTO may be prorated in year one based on date of hire.

Extended Illness Bank : hours ( day) accrued per month which can be used for illness or injury after one day of Paid Time Off is taken.

Paid Family Leave : Up to hours ( weeks) to care for a spouse, child, or parent after months of consecutive employment.

Holidays : set paid holidays each year plus three floating holidays, which can be used anytime during the fiscal year.
