Sr. Accountant (CPA)

We're searching for a remote Sr. Accountant (CPA) with approximately 5 years' professional experience, including prior Healthcare industry experience, to join their team in the United States. Candidates must live within the Central Time Zone and be willing to travel to San Antonio, TX on occasion. Our client is a technology and services company dedicated to reducing barriers to care by improving the delivery of non-emergency medical transportation to people across America. Our client employs proprietary technology, paired with a nationwide network of vetted transportation providers. This enables payers and health systems to deliver cost-effective, on-demand transportation intelligently, enhancing the patient experience in the process. They serve the largest Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, and provider programs in the country.
About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Accountant who thrives in a high-growth, fast-paced environment. This is a hands-on role requiring deep analytical skills, high attention to detail, and a strong understanding of GAAP principles. The ideal candidate can operate independently while collaborating cross-functionally to support SafeRide's mission of improving access to care for vulnerable populations.
Role will cover:
- GL Close Complex customer invoicing
- Revenue recognition across multiple contract types
- Reconciliations
- Customer Allocations
Key Responsibilities
Monthly accounting close procedures including journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting in accordance with GAAP
Manage and reconcile monthly customer billing and payments
Each team member has their own list of customers they are responsible for to invoice and collect AR from
Analyze customer profitability
Perform GL account variance analyses, including research with other departments
Support billing process reconciliation between SafeRide's front-end system and vendor payments
Prepare and maintain detailed balance sheet reconciliations and work papers
Review balance sheet reconciliations and other close tasks performed by others
Assist in annual external financial audits
Assist in periodic state and health plan audits
Help maintain accounting policies and internal controls
Support ad hoc accounting projects and cross-functional initiatives
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
5+ years of progressive accounting experience - healthcare industry required
Must live in US Central Time Zone
Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, v-lookups, etc.)
Deep understanding of GAAP and accounting fundamentals
Experience working with Medicare/Medicaid billing and reconciliation
Strong data orientation and a growth mindset
Nice to Have
CPA or MSA
Experience with Sage Intacct and Quicksight
