The Academic Achievement Center (AAC) is the largest hub of student academic support services at Bridgewater State University.
The AAC provides academic advising for specific populations as well as learning assistance support to undergraduate students.
Learning assistance is composed of six centers including Academic Coaching, Accounting & Finance Lab, Tutoring Central, Math and Statistics Tutoring, Second Language Services and Writing Studio.
The AAC also houses Student Accessibility Services and Testing Services. The AAC dedicates each day to student success and retention, as well as equity, diversity, and inclusion.
We have multiple openings for CRIT 111 tutors for the 2024-2025 academic year with Tutoring Central. Interviews will start in May 2024 and continue through the summer until the positions are filled.
Tutors will work with a diverse group of students from any section of CRIT 111 and support them one on one during weekday hours Monday-Friday.
Through their work, tutors will actively advance a culture of accessibility and inclusivity throughout AAC and Bridgewater State University community.
The best tutor candidates should be highly dependable, have excellent communications skills, and have a commitment to anti-racism, equity, and inclusion.
- Earned grade of B or higher in CRIT 111
- Available for 4-6 hours per week (M-F)
- Available to attend preservice tutor training along with monthly training. Training topics may include tutoring communication skills, learning strategies, accessibility, cultural competence, equity, inclusion, etc.
- Available to attend additional CRIT 111 training sessions (scheduled based on availability), to review common CRIT 111 course topics
- Commitment to anti racism, equity, and inclusion
