Gen is actively recruiting for a 10-week summer internship program.
As an intern, you will work collaboratively on challenging projects with high impact during this full-time (40 hours per week) internship opportunity directly related to Gen’s business strategy in a dynamic and global environment.
Job Summary :
The accounting intern will be a part of the technical accounting and external reporting team. Responsibilities include supporting the External Reporting team in preparing accurate and timely financial reports for external stakeholders, including investors, regulatory agencies, and other relevant parties.
This role provides an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to gain hands-on experience in financial reporting and regulatory compliance within a dynamic corporate environment.
Responsibilities :
Assist in Financial Report Preparation
- Collaborate with the External Reporting team to compile and analyze financial data for quarterly and annual reports.
- Research authoritative literature and provide technical accounting recommendations on transactions such as legal transactions, impairment, and investments.
Data Compilation and Verification :
- Gather and verify financial data from various sources, including internal departments and external partners.
- Perform data reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
Collaboration and Communication :
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Finance, Legal, and Audit, to gather necessary information for reporting purposes.
- Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
Process Improvement :
Identify opportunities for process improvement within the external reporting function and recommend potential solutions.
Special Projects :
- Participate in ad-hoc projects related to financial reporting, as assigned by the External Reporting Manager.
- Provide administrative support as needed.
- Assist with internal PowerPoint presentations.
Qualifications :
- Currently pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting concepts.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and familiarity with accounting software (e.g., ERP systems).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in data handling and reporting.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of relevant regulatory frameworks (e.g., SEC, IFRS) is a plus
