Executive Assistant To CIO
We are seeking a highly skilled Executive Assistant (EA) to support the CIO of Western Digital. This role is a trusted partner to the CIO and Chief of Staff, ensuring the smooth and effective operation of the CIO's office. You will manage a complex global calendar, facilitate communication at all levels, and handle sensitive information with the highest degree of confidentiality.
The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and able to balance approachability with excellent judgment and professionalism. You will work closely with executives across the business and serve as the lead EA for the IT Leadership Team (ITLT), helping create a cohesive, high-performing administrative community.
Flexibility across global time zones, strong time-management skills, and the ability to operate independently in a fast-paced environment are essential.
Key Responsibilities
Executive Support & Calendar Management
- Manage an intricate, global calendar; ensure the CIO's time aligns with strategic priorities.
- Coordinate meeting logistics, agendas, materials, and follow-ups with accuracy and urgency.
- Oversee complex domestic and international travel arrangements, including itineraries, visas, and trip briefings.
Communication & Briefing Preparation
Serve as the primary contact for the CIO's office, ensuring clear, timely communication with internal teams and external partners.Partner with Communications to prepare briefing documents, talking points, and business trip packets.Triage and respond to inquiries; route routine matters to appropriate owners.Operational & Administrative Excellence
Manage expense reports, POs, and administrative workflows using M365, Co-Pilot, OneDrive, and WD internal tools.Maintain organized documentation, collaboration sites, and executive workflows.Support onboarding and coordination across the ITLT administrative team.Leadership & Partnership
Act as the lead EA for the ITLT, cascading information and promoting partnership across the admin community.Build strong relationships across the organization and with key external stakeholders.Partner with the Chief of Staff on special projects and operational priorities.Foster and participate in communities that support professional development and shared success.Qualifications
Minimum 10 years supporting technology executives, ideally a CIO in a large public company.Expert-level proficiency with Microsoft 365 productivity tools.Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.Thrives under pressure and adapts quickly to shifting needs across global time zones.Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.High emotional intelligence, strong interpersonal skills, and executive presence.Proven ability to mentor and collaborate with administrative peers.Integrity, discretion, professionalism, and a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset.Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
