Director, Deal Desk Enablement & Operations
Deal Desk Excellence is the central global team focused on enabling the organization to win deals, drive strategy and protect Microsoft, through partnerships and governance. This leader ensures that Deal Managers (DMs), Sales Contract Managers (SCMs), and Commercial Executives (CEs) have the skills, tools, and standardized processes needed to deliver customer value efficiently and effectively.
Responsibilities
- Attract, retain, and continue to develop a high performing Commercial Enablement and Readiness Team.
- Support the creation of an inclusive culture where team members can operate as their authentic selves.
- Streamline deal-making processes and standardize operations to drive productivity and maximize business value.
- Align deal execution models and practices with strategic business priorities.
- Partner across functions to establish and embed best-in-class deal-making practices.
- Implement Voice-of-the-Field listening mechanisms to identify and address areas for improvement.
- Assess resourcing needs and define compensation and territory coverage plans aligned with strategic priorities.
- Drive adoption of AI and platform enhancements that simplify and modernize end-to-end deal-making.
- Develop and deliver readiness and professional development tailored to DMs, SCMs, CEs, and their Managers communities.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, community, and continuous learning across global teams.
Qualifications
Required / minimum qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Operations, Finance, or related field AND 8+ years experience in program management, process management, or process improvement OR equivalent experience.6+ years management (e.g., people, project, process, vendor, change) experience.Additional or preferred qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Operations, Finance, or related field AND 15+ years experience in program management, process management, or process improvement OR Master's Degree in Business, Operations, Finance, or related field AND 12+ years experience program management, process management, or process improvement OR equivalent experience.8+ years people management experience.Proven success leading cross-functional teams to deliver strategic business outcomes.Background in operational process design, standardization, and change management.Demonstrated ability to influence across organizational boundaries and drive clarity in complex environments.Business judgement leveraging strong strategic thinking complemented with a bias for action and execution / operational excellence.Experience evolving and driving global readiness initiatives focused on optimizing content, delivery, and on-going support.Experience leading teams through change, ensuring smooth transitions while maintaining high levels of performance.Proficient written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to connect strategy to execution.Business Program Management M6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $130,900 - $277,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $165,600 - $303,600 per year.
