Switchboard Operator I
Under the direction of the Director of Patient-Centered Services and the Guest Services Supervisor, the Switchboard Operator will demonstrate premier customer service in a fast-paced environment.
The Operator is responsible for providing telecommunications assistance to the public, physicians, staff, patents, families and visitors of Stamford Health.
Responsibilities will include assessing and appropriately managing and responding to customer's information needs in an accurate, expeditious, courteous and competent manner, initiating and announcing emergency codes, sending out alerts, providing assistance with pagers, maintenance of hospital directories, as well as training and fax distribution.
- Two years experience in a customer service position, preferably in healthcare is required
- Previous switchboard experience is preferred
- Excellent diction together with a congenial and well modulated tone of voice
- Speaks and understands English fluently
- Bi-lingual is preferred
- Competency with computer hardware and software is required
- Flexibility of schedule is a plus
- Ability to work well in both group setting as well as solo shifts
