Texas Education THRIVE, a comprehensive educational initiative through the College of Education at UT Austin, provides engagement, support, professional development and networking resources to school districts across Texas.

Geared toward both early and mid-career teachers, THRIVE is committed to providing the necessary mentorship and professional learning opportunities that ensure successful and productive careers in education for the betterment of all Texas children.

THRIVE includes three foundational components : District Engagement, Professional Learning and Mentorship and Networks of Support.

Purpose

Work closely with the director to implement business activities and events associated with Texas Education THRIVE, a new initiative of the college that is transforming the experience of early career teachers and their mentors through innovative partnerships with Texas public schools.

Support all phases of program activities associated with THRIVE expansion, including development, implementation, and assessment and tracking progress to ensure milestones are achieved with quality and on time.

Provide administrative assistance to the director for THRIVE activities.

This position is currently funded through 06 / 30 / 2026 with the possibility of continuation beyond 06 / 30 / 2026 contingent upon availability of funding.

Responsibilities

Administrative Support

Schedule / calendar management

Meeting preparation- Secure space for in person meetings, prepare materials, set up before and clean up after large meetings;

coordinate parking permits for guests; coordinate refreshments or meals when needed; ensure follow up items are delivered in a timely manner.

Procurement- order requested materials and ensure timely delivery and payment.

Ensure invoices and reimbursement forms for THRIVE activities are submitted in accordance with grant, college, and university policies.

Travel planning and reimbursement

Check reports and correspondence for accuracy, edit drafts, and proofread outgoing correspondence.

Gather or coordinate the compilation of information from a number of sources for THRIVE research and reporting.

Communication

Serve as an initial point of contact for THRIVE inbound communication requests to ensure inquiries are directed to the appropriate person.

Facilitate communication with internal and external partners (UT departments, school districts, philanthropic organizations, business vendors)

Contribute to communications and written content, including newsletter articles, blog posts, member summaries, other materials that engage its members and tell the Network's story.

Collect and synthesize written content to support select grant reporting requirements.

Review, proofread, and edit THRIVE newsletters, reports and briefs that represent the findings and key takeaways from the individual and collective THRIVE community.

Event Coordination

Supports both in-person and virtual THRIVE events by identifying event venues, food vendors, virtual platforms, facilitating event planning timelines including annual Mentor Institutes, quarterly Community of Practice convenings, and others.

Creates event collateral, including online registrations, event agendas, general participant materials, presentation materials and online feedback forms.

Available onsite and online for events to ensure everything runs smoothly and participant needs are met.

Monitoring

Documents THRIVE protocols, and keeps THRIVE communities up-to-date on current policy and procedures to support their participation and contributions

Tracks the performance of communications and events to help determine their effectiveness and identify areas for improvement to better support and engage Members.

Generate graphs, charts, spreadsheets, reports, and presentation materials, as needed to communicate results.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and three years of experience of coordinating or administering a program.

Demonstrated writing, research, and project management skills. Strong communication skills, as well as an understanding of the higher education research community.

Ability to self-start, learn quickly, meet deadlines, and follow through on tasks. Flexibility with shifting priorities.

Collaborative, professional demeanor with customer service-oriented behavior.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Qualtrics for collecting data and generating reports. Experience with UT systems (VIP, DEFINE) and working knowledge of UT Austin's policies and procedures.

Experience with Google and Microsoft suites. Experience with Zoom and its features to support breakout groups and participant engagement.

Experience communicating and working with the university, school district, and philanthropic communities.

Salary Range

$58,000+ depending on qualifications

Working Conditions

May work around standard office conditions.

Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation.

May require work outside of typical business hours for select events and activities including limited travel to provide regional event support.

Employment Eligibility :

Retirement Plan Eligibility :

The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
