Job Summary :

The work responsibility of Maintenance Engineer is to ensure the plant equipment is well maintained to function as expected.

Responsibilities :

Role Specific Responsibilities :

Maintenance Job Planning :

  • To conducts plant tours for regular equipment inspection every day to find the equipment problem or potential equipment problems timely
  • To schedule preventive maintenance jobs;
  • To complete daily routine maintenance job / scheduled preventive maintenance work in a timely and organized way maintaining quality standards and with adequate safety measures;
  • To be responsive to emergency maintenance work in a prompt manner and ensure minimum delays in undertaking such jobs and meet deadlines, so as to minimize the possible impact to normal plant operation.
  • To ensure minimum idle time of the workmen on the shopfloor and to minimize overtime work schedule without hampering the manufacturing process.
  • To ensure all safety rules and practice specified by the company are strictly followed (including Contract workers), so as to protect the safety of both people and property.
  • To ensure that all work is done safely.
  • To plan improvements to reduce equipment failure and repeating maintenance jobs regularly.
  • To acquire significant knowledge about equipment's for the purpose of carrying out maintenance jobs and also participate in Root Cause Analysis of Equipment failures.
  • To ensure good housekeeping practice during the maintenance / repair jobs like the working area has been cleaned without leaving garbage / scraps / waste materials at the site or shop floors.

Record Keeping :

  • To follow the equipment maintenance work record-filing requirement;
  • All maintenance jobs must be logged into different logbooks as required in a timely manner.
  • To ensure complete maintenance record filing with respect to all the key equipment and instruments maintenance jobs undertaken.
  • To ensure the History cards of all equipment's are properly maintained.

Project Support :

  • To give strong support from mechanical and technical side to any improvements as well as any new project undertaken by the Company;
  • To provide inputs for mechanical improvement projects in order to improve efficiency and operational stabilities of equipment's.

Maintenance Job Planning :

  • Maintenance (preventive as well as emergency) jobs should be completed in a timely and efficient manner and with adequate Safety Measures;
  • Safety Measures undertaken should ensure low incidence occurring and minimizing severity of accidents.
  • Deployment of resources to ensure reduction in idle time and optimization of available resources.

Record Keeping :

  • Complete information and records on equipment failure incidence should be available.
  • Equipment list to be updated regularly.

Project Support :

  • Support in planning appropriate allocation of resources during Projects Jobs;
  • Inputs from Mechanical and Technical side in selection of equipment's / process during Project Jobs.

Compliance :

  • Complies with company Health, Safety and Environmental policies, procedures, and arrangements
  • Reports all Health, Safety and Environmental accidents, incidents and near misses promptly
  • Acts in a safe and responsible manner at all times

Problem Solving and Innovation :

  • Active participation in continuous improvement activities
  • Participates in problem-solving
  • Takes responsibility and ownership for own learning and development in the spirit of continuous improvement of both self and the business
  • Assists in the training, mentoring, and assessment of other team members
  • Exercises autonomy and judgement subject to overall direction or guidance

Qualifications / Desired Skills :

Education and Qualifications :

Diploma / Degree in Engineering (Mechanical)

Experience :

3 to 5 years in the Chemical or Pharma industry.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :

  • Training in Safety Procedures.
  • Firefighting and first aid knowledge
  • Knowledge of MS office.
  • Awareness of MSDS
  • Awareness of recent developments in maintenance technologies
  • Use of PPEs
