JobSummary :
This is an experienced codingposition focused on review of documentation and coding. Thisposition will ensure accurate coding and claim submission andconformity to applicable guidelines and regulations.
EssentialResponsibilities :
- Perform documentation and coding reviews within workqueues across various specialties as assigned. Utilize availablecoding tools and knowledge to assist in appropriate assignment ofcoding.
- Maintain current knowledge to ensurethat KPNW coding and documentation meets regulatory guidelines andaudit standards. Escalate trends and identified issues throughappropriate department channels.
Continued development of codingknowledge and regulatory guidelines with maintenance ofcertification.
Performs other duties asrequested to include complex coding issues and project work asassigned

- Minimum Two (2) years work experience in a healthcaresetting.
- Minimum One (1) year of professionalcoding experience.

- Prefer two (2) year work experience at a KPfacility.
- Prefer one (1) year of professionalcoding and / or auditing experience in one or more of the followingareas : evaluation and management (E&M) procedural / surgicalemergency department or anesthesia.
- Workingknowledge of the KPHC / EpicCare system.
