Meet the minimum state Early Head Start Assistant Teacher requirements for Alabama, which include the ability to pass a background check, holding a High School Diploma or its equivalent, along with completing one of the following within two years of employment : a post-secondary degree in child development or a CDA certificate.
Experience within a licensed center is a big plus!

Responsibilities
Provide instructional assistance such as but not limited to : facilitating learning centers; individual and small group instruction;
facilitating and modeling play; assisting students with computers; and model good nutrition practices during meal / snack times
- Demonstrate knowledge of the Head Start Performance Standards policies and procedures
- Plan and maintain a safe, clean, learning environment, and assures the well-being and safety of children in her / his care.
- Establish a caring professional relationship and a climate of mutual trust and respect for families.
- Maintain a cooperative attitude of working together with center staff, volunteers, parents, and program specialists in planning and implementing classroom activities
- Timely and accurately complete all paperwork, including home visit forms, parent / teacher conference forms, lesson plans, and transition forms.
- Assists in the preparation of materials needed for classroom instruction
