2nd Shift Sanitation Manager – Food Manufacturing

Kent Quality Foods, a premier manufacturer of specialty meat products, is seeking an experienced professional to lead our second shift operations at its Hudsonville facility in the position of 2nd Shift Sanitation Manager (6pm-2am) .

Responsibilities :

• Plan and schedule the departments work utilizing employees, equipment and materials in order to ensure a clean and sanitary plant, while delivering and improving efficiency and effectiveness goal
• Develop and improve new and existing SOP
• Train employees and develop strategies to maximize employee utilization and cross-coverage
• Support plant safety, food safety, and good manufacturing practices (GMP's) Food Safety being paramount to all operations
• Work with supervisor's and ensure that Pre-operational plant conditions are within USDA and KQF standards
• Conduct quarterly chemical training with sanitation team
• Monitor and evaluate environmental swabs-problem solve and identify countermeasures for deviations and out of spec results
• Deliver on target or better than on the Sanitation supply and chemical budget
• Develop employees and supervisors-align with Company objective to promote from within
• Work on continuous improvement projects in the department
• Approve and verify hours, for the department
• Conduct weekly meetings with Supervisors to go over the department metrics, projects, and goals
• Perform other projects, tasks, and duties, as assigned by plant management

Qualifications :

• 3 to 5 years of management / supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
• Able to coach, mentor and direct employees as need
• An individual with outstanding problem-solving skills
• Must have strong organizational skills, capable of directing priorities and goal for the entire second shift operation
• Effective communication skills with direct reports and with other management on other shifts
• A continuous improvement mindset
• Strong ownership in the success of the team
