Information Support Services Coordinator

The Information Support Services Coordinator under the supervision of the Senior Director of Technology coordinates the planning, implementation, and management of the district's information systemsincluding student information, business, HR, transportation, rostering, application integration, and data management. This role ensures data integrity, system reliability, and effective support for district applications, enabling efficient operations and informed decision-making.

Qualifications

Education/Certification

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent demonstrated experience in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field (Master's preferred) Relevant professional certifications (e.g., database management, SIS/BIS administration) preferred Clear and valid Texas driver's license

Special Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Expertise in student information systems (SIS), business information systems (BIS), HR/applicant systems, and application integration Knowledge of data management, SQL, user account provisioning, account rostering, and system interoperability Ability to analyze and interpret data, troubleshoot complex application issues, and recommend improvements Experience managing application upgrades, data migrations, and system implementations Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills Proficiency in documentation, compliance, and reporting for information systems Familiar with PEIMS and OCR reporting requirements

Experience

Minimum 3 years of experience in information systems or application support, preferably in school district Demonstrated success in managing information systems projects and technical teams

Major Responsibilities and Duties

Information Systems Coordination & Management

• Oversee support for student information systems (SIS), business information systems (BIS), HR/applicant systems, and related applications
• Manage user accounts, provisioning, and data integration across district platforms
• Coordinate application upgrades, data migrations, and system implementations
• Maintain documentation, compliance, and reporting for information systems
• Collaborate with curriculum, HR, and other departments to ensure effective system use
• Provide customer service & technical support to district & campus personnel regarding PEIMS requirements and third party rostered applications.
• Assist with training related to attendance accounting, discipline management, & other PEIMS requirements.
• Monitor campus staff on data quality and submissions.

Policy, Compliance, and Reporting

• Implement policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and local board policy
• Develop and maintain systems of internal controls, data security, licensing, upgrades, and disaster recovery
• Ensure compliance with data privacy and cybersecurity standards
• Compile, maintain, and file all required reports, records, and documents
• Assist with the collection, integration, and formatting of all data required for PEIMS submission according to Texas Education Agency PEIMS Data Standards
• Work cooperatively with campus, business office, and personnel office staff to collect, organize, and format data required to submit district PEIMS data according to prescribed state deadlines
• Run edits, reports, and verification checks on data to ensure accuracy of information; distribute edits and reports to appropriate staff for analysis, verification, and correction
• Assist with submitting accurate PEIMS data in Texas Education Agency (TEA)-prescribed format to education service center (ESC) for processing using computer terminal or personal computer

Collaboration and Support

• Build positive relationships with district leaders, campus staff, and external partners
• Provide technical guidance and support for information systems-related issues
• Respond to inquiries and deliver high-quality customer service
• Support communication between district personnel, ESC/TEA, and software vendors regarding PEIMS and SIS issues
• Coordinate with the the Senior Director of Technology, Director of PEIMS & District Data Support Systems, HR Director and C&I Directors
