Residential Electrical Service Technician (Journeyman)

At Great Dane Heating, Cooling, Electrical & Plumbing, an Atrium company, your day starts with a stocked truck, a clear plan, and support from a tight-knit team. By mid-morning, you’ve diagnosed a tricky circuit issue, advised a homeowner on panel upgrades, and wrapped up a safe, code-compliant repair. In the afternoon, you lead an apprentice through a home re-wire, finish a generator hookup, and leave your customer with confidence—and a few maintenance pointers.

What you’ll do

• Lead and complete residential electrical installations and service calls from kickoff to final walkthrough.
• Install and maintain panels, AC circuits, lighting, ceiling fans, generators, and perform re-devices and full home re-wires.
• Use power tools and test equipment to troubleshoot, diagnose, and correct issues efficiently and safely.
• Verify system performance through thorough testing and quality checks.
• Adjust plans in the field to meet conditions while upholding standards and codes.
• Collaborate with installers and guide an apprentice to build skills and deliver excellent outcomes.
• Provide clear, friendly customer communication and educate homeowners on system care.
• Stay current on the latest codes, best practices, and residential technologies.

What you bring

• Valid Journeyman or Master Electrical license in Michigan.
• 4+ years of progressive residential electrical experience.
• Leadership or supervisory background preferred.
• Knowledge of MRC and NEC required.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Clear background check, Motor Vehicle Report (MVR), and drug screen
• Strong people skills with a customer-education mindset.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Unwavering commitment to safety.
• Ability to thrive independently and as part of a team.

Sign-on bonuses for qualified hires

Eligibility

• Active Journeyman or Master license in the state of Michigan.
• Bonus payout schedule provided upon hire.
