Within the spirit of “Making People’s Dreams Come True”, this position is responsible for playing a vital role in the initial design and planning phases of underground utility installations with the use of Computer‐Aided Design (CAD) software to create detailed technical drawings of trenches for various utilities like water, sewer, gas, electricity and telecommunications. These duties are accomplished while delivering Raving Fans customer service to both internal and external customers.

Responsibilities :
- Utility Trenching PlansCreate detailed trenching plans by compiling design data from utility layouts, trench profiles, road crossings, unit layouts, and equipment placement.Ensure plans meet The Villages’ specifications and standards.
- Joint Trench Design Develop joint trench configurations to be used by all participating wire utility companies, ensuring compliance with The Villages’ joint trench detail requirements.
- Telecom Infrastructure DesignDesign HFC (Hybrid Fiber‐Coaxial) and FTTX (Fiber‐to‐the‐X) systems for local telecom providers.Management of fiber and coax routing, equipment placement, network layout, and preparation of splice matrixes and bills of materials.
- Fiber Network MappingCreate and maintain accurate fiber network maps and splice documentation for The Villages’ internal use, reflecting both current layouts and updates from field changes.
- As‐Builts & Contractor InvoicingReview and approve contractor invoices, verifying field completion. Apply as‐built revisions to internal records and update joint trench and utility drawings accordingly.
- Telecom & Contractor CoordinationAct as a liaison with telecom companies and field contractors to produce specialized deliverables, such as equipment inventories, project activation paperwork, and turnover documentation.
- All other duties as assigned.
