Primary Purpose :
The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for leading the clinical care team in delivering a high-quality patient experience through effective supervision, training, and support. This role provides direct oversight of day-to-day team performance, staffing, and scheduling, while fostering professional growth and ensuring team members operate at the top of their scope. The Clinical Supervisor also leads the integration of the University Health Information System (Epic) into clinical workflows to optimize provider support and patient outcomes. Working closely with clinic leadership and providers, this role balances clinical excellence with operational responsibilities to ensure consistent, team-based support for patients, colleagues, and clinic goals.

Essential Functions :
Monitors and optimizes clinical workflows to support clinic efficiency and improve patient care outcomes.
Supervises and oversees training of the clinical care team, ensuring clear expectations, accountability, and proficiency in job responsibilities.
Conducts training sessions as needed for clinical care team to develop and reinforce clinical and administrative skills.
Creates and maintains training content and competency assessments to enhance clinical care team performance and ensure adherence to best practices.
Provides direct-supervision, leadership and mentorship to clinical care team, focusing on professional development, clinical competency, and maximizing their skillset within their scope of practice.
Delegates tasks as appropriate to ensure efficient clinic operations and effective team supervision.
Acts as the primary resource for clinical support and workflow issues, ensuring the clinical care team can effectively support the clinic, providers and delivery of high-quality patient care.
Manages daily staffing and workflow assignments, ensuring adequate coverage and clinic support in response to call-outs and patient volume.
Oversees staff schedules and time and attendance compliance, including review and sign-off of timecards, in collaboration with support staff responsible for maintaining records and data entry.
Collaborates with the leadership to provide to maintain appropriate staffing levels and manage adjustments as needed.
Serves as the primary resource for Epic integration, supporting staff training and ensuring effective use of the electronic health record (EHR).
Serves as the primary lead for interviewing and hiring clinical care team members, collaborating with clinic leadership and human resources throughout the selection process.
Oversees performance evaluations, coaching, and corrective actions for the clinical care team, ensuring alignment with clinic expectations and standards.
Leads regular staff meetings for the clinical care team to support communication, training, and alignment with clinic goals.
Collaborates in planning and oversees execution of employee vaccine clinics.
Leads implementation and completion of best practices, with a quality care and patient-centered approach.
Develops and maintains knowledge of departmental facilities, policies, procedures, and processes.
Demonstrates flexibility and adaptability to departmental changes.
Performs other duties as assigned by clinic leadership.

Physical and Other Requirements :
Stooping : Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist.
Reaching : Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
Mobility : The person in this position needs to occasionally move between work sites and inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
Communicate : Frequently communicate with others.
PPE : Biohazard laboratory environment that requires use of personal protective equipment in accordance with CDC and OSHA regulations and company policies.
ARUP Policies and Procedures : To conduct self in compliance with all ARUP Policies and Procedures.
Sedentary Work : Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and / or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
Fine Motor Control : Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand as in handling.
Vision : Having close, far, and peripheral visual acuity to perform a variety of tasks such as make general observations of depth and distance.
Qualifications
Education
Required
High School Diploma or Equivalent or better
Associates Degree or better in Nursing
Preferred
- Bachelor's Degree or better in Nursing
Licenses & Certifications

Basic Life Support
State Registered Nurse
Experience
Required
Associate degree in nursing (ADN) or healthcare related field
Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Utah or obtain one within 90 days of hire under the interstate compact if switching residency to State of Utah
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Four (4) years of experience as a licensed Registered Nurse
Minimum one (1) year of experience with Epic E.M.R.
Ability to lead, train, and mentor a team effectively
Preferred
Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) or healthcare related field
Advanced Epic experience (e.g., Epic super-user or Epic training experience)
Experience with continuous quality improvement (CQI) and curriculum development
Supervision in a clinical setting
Curriculum training and development experience
