Position Summary:

  • We are hiring an experienced Trimble Operator to support field layout, GPS data collection, and constructability verification for electrical construction projects.
  • This position is ideal for someone with hands-on experience operating Trimble GPS equipment in grading, sitework, excavation, underground utilities, or heavy civil construction.
  • The Trimble Operator will collect and communicate accurate field data to electrical designers and engineers, helping ensure installations can be completed according to the project plans and actual jobsite conditions.

Survey Technicians will be trained in electrical constructability and project engineering services. Responsibilities Operate Trimble GPS equipment to locate, verify, and capture construction points Perform field layout for electrical construction installations Collect accurate coordinates, elevations, measurements, and jobsite data Upload and manage project information through Autodesk Construction Cloud Share captured field data with electrical designers and engineers Help verify project constructability before and during installation Compare project design information against actual field conditions Identify potential layout conflicts or discrepancies Maintain accurate field records and layout documentation Coordinate with project managers, field supervisors, engineers, and design teams Travel to active construction sites as required Safely operate and maintain the assigned company vehicle and Trimble equipment Physical work environment:

  • Ability to work overtime, including weekend, and occasional night shift when required.
  • Ability to safely traverse and navigate rugged terrain in remote areas.
  • Ability to regularly work outside in all weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, wet, and muddy conditions, with high/precarious places.
  • Ability to transport heavy equipment to various job sites (regularly lifting/moving up to 25 pounds, frequently lifting/moving up to 50 pounds) Job Requirements and Prerequisites Candidates must have personally operated Trimble GPS equipment.
  • Electrical, HVAC, or Mechanical experience is required.
  • Hands-on experience operating Trimble GPS equipment is required Experience with GPS construction layout, point collection, and field verification Background in Electrical, HVAC, Mechanical or underground utilities.
  • Experience with Trimble equipment or total stations are required.
  • Ability to understand coordinates, elevations, construction plans, and field layout information Ability to accurately collect and communicate field data Comfortable working outdoors and on active construction sites Comfortable working in heights up to 45ft in aerial lift.
