Teach Computer Science Courses:

  • Instruct students across a variety of high school STEM subjects (e.g., Physics, Chemistry, Biology, STEM, Robotics, Engineering Design), based on departmental needs and your area of expertise.
  • Design and execute hands-on laboratory experiments and engineering design challenges, adhering to safety protocols.

Differentiate Learning:

  • Adapt instruction, materials, and assignments to meet the varied learning needs, abilities, and interests of all students, including those with IEPs or ELL status.

Facilitate Laboratory Work:

  • Develop, set up, and supervise hands-on laboratory experiments and demonstrations, ensuring students learn proper scientific procedure and strict safety protocols .

Evaluate Work:

  • Assess and evaluate student writing, reading comprehension, and oral presentations using clear rubrics and providing detailed, constructive feedback .

Maintain Records:

  • Accurately record and report student attendance, grades, and progress in compliance with school and district policies.
  • Manage and maintain STEM lab equipment, materials, and technology, ensuring a safe and organized workspace.
  • Establish and enforce clear classroom expectations and school policies.
  • Stay current with best practices in STEM education, curriculum development, and educational technology through ongoing professional learning.
  • Sponsor or participate in STEM-related extracurricular activities, such as Science Olympiad, Robotics Club, or coding competitions.

Promote STEM Inquiry:

  • Foster a culture of curiosity and a lifelong appreciation for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics through exploration, experimentation, and problem-solving.

Prepare for Exams:

  • Prepare students for standardized tests and college-level exams, such as the SAT, ACT, or Advanced Placement (AP) exams where applicable.

Utilize Technology:

  • Integrate educational technology, software, and resources into the STEM curriculum to enhance learning experiences. Experience:

  • Proven experience in teaching or student teaching high school STEM classes; experience teaching AP, Honors, or other advanced STEM courses is a plus.

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of current educational technology and its application in the classroom (e.g., learning management systems, data acquisition tools, coding platforms).
  • Proficiency in utilizing project-based learning (PBL) and inquiry-based learning methodologies.
