Job Description

The Controls Engineer position is a hands-on job requiring excellent technical, organizational and communication skills. The Controls Engineer applies professional programming knowledge and skills to project machine control programming, primarily within the Baggage Handling division relating to the baggage control system.

The focus of the US controls department is on Allen-Bradley technology, but work will be done on a Siemens platform, so both programming platforms must be experienced. BEUMER will provide training, both in general technology and special applications and equipment.

This position offers the opportunity for career development and will work closely with mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, project management and service.

Responsibilities :

• Understand customer requirements and translate those into programmatic design.
• Design and program machine control for all types of BEUMER baggage handling systems using the BEUMER base machine control code.
• Prepare and test PLC hardware for projects.
• Prepare / Review electrical design drawings and specifications as they relate to machine control programming.
• Prepare / Review electrical design
• Work with electrical engineering to define I / O network and addressing.
• Work with engineering in selection and test of peripheral equipment.
• Work with the PC software developers.
• Participate in in-house testing at any BEUMER office of the machine control system.
• Prepare as-built documentation for project.
• Assist in the programming and debugging of PLC and HMI systems for the Crisbelt as needed
• Participate in the on-site machine control commissioning.
• Participate in second tier software response support line.
• May be assigned to special projects or required to perform other duties not listed above, which may vary from time to time as determined by management, to meet company need
• Review As-Sold Documents, Create WBS, Review Project Specification & create RFI, Project Risk / Opportunity Assessment (Technical), Update Requirement Traceability.
• Assist product development controls aspect with respect to baggage handling equipment
• Support Field Installation & Commissioning.

Compensation range : $90,000.00 - $100,000.00 Annually
