Description

JOB POSTING: DEVELOPMENT MANAGER- Corporate Sponsorship experience required

THE OPPORTUNITY

Partnership with Children (PWC) seeks a Development Manager to join our growing development team. Founded in 1908, PWC is a blue-chip nonprofit with a proud 115+ year history serving 20,000 children and families in New York City’s most under-resourced communities. Today, we are a leading school-based mental health provider, working in public schools across all five boroughs to help young people overcome the effects of poverty and trauma and succeed in school and life.

If you are a self-starter looking to advance your career while making a real difference, this is an opportunity to do both. We are seeking someone entrepreneurial who thrives on taking initiative and building something meaningful. You will partner closely with the Chief Development Officer to strengthen our fundraising efforts and expand support from corporations and government sources.

In this role, you will manage key aspects of fundraising and development, with a focus on public funding, corporate partnerships, and fundraising events. You will work across teams to design and execute strategies that build, grow, and sustain relationships with corporate and government partners—cultivating, nurturing, and stewarding them to meet both annual and long-term goals. This is a strong growth opportunity for someone ready to take ownership, contribute meaningfully, and build their career in a mission-driven organization.

CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Corporate Partnerships: 40%

  • Grow corporate fundraising and corporate volunteer events and revenue, creating a pipeline for corporate and individual major donors
  • Identify and cultivate Young Professionals Board, including support of regular meetings and events
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with PWC school-based staff to develop and execute a corporate volunteer program
  • Qualify identified prospects and donors for cultivation potential; conduct prospect research and assess their capacity and inclination to give

Event Management: 25%

  • Facilitate the planning and execution of the annual gala and other cultivation and stewardship events throughout the year (large corporate volunteer events, friendraisers, and donor briefings)
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure events align with organizational goals and provide exceptional experiences for attendees

Government Relations: 25%

  • Support the retained government relations firm in maintaining year-round relationships with elected officials’ and their staff
  • Coordinate elected officials’ and their staff’s site visits and event participation with Program and Communications teams
  • Support leadership in meetings with elected officials and legislative staff; assist with ongoing relationship management, including providing materials for meetings and managing the thank you note process
  • Develop briefing materials and manage correspondence for meetings with elected officials and their staff
  • Manage the discretionary funding application process, including preparation and submission of materials through public portals
  • Oversee and help to manage the contracting process, funder recognition requirements, and the funding reporting requirements for any discretionary funding secured
  • Provide occasional support in responding to public RFPs

Development Operations: 10%

  • Coordinate with Chief Development Officer and CEO for high-priority meetings
  • Coordinate with the Development Associate to ensure timely and accurate gift entry and acknowledgment processes.
  • Maintain selected donor information in Salesforce and other drives to track funder relationships and uphold data integrity.
  • Collaborate with Chief Development Officer and Chief Financial Officer to develop routine, data-driven revenue projections and monitor with ongoing review and analysis
  • Support the Development team on other projects, tasks, and campaigns, as needed

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; 3–5 years of nonprofit fundraising experience.
  • Corporate partnerships, sponsorships and events experience required.
  • Experience with knowledge of Federal, New York State, and New York City public funding sources (discretionary and RFP-based), including management of public funding portals is preferred.
  • Proven ability to execute fundraising strategies that generate results; track record managing donor relations and development operations.
  • Experience with prospecting tools and new donor acquisition strategies.
  • Broad understanding of the philanthropic, educational, mental health, and equity landscapes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to build and sustain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills; ability to develop and maintain effective systems, policies, and tools that support development operations.
  • Creative thinker with strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, solutions-oriented approach.
  • Proficiency in Salesforce and Microsoft Office Suite required.
  • Commitment to PWC’s organizational values: Collaboration, Continuous Learning, Going to Solution, Equity & Inclusion, and Passion

Note: This position is hybrid with 2-3 days a week in office. This position requires occasional travel for government advocacy events and the flexibility to attend early morning school visits and Young Professional Board meetings in the evenings.

SALARY AND BENEFITS

Salary range is $80,000-$90,000 commensurate with credentials and experience.

All full-time employees receive an excellent benefits package including health, dental, and vision insurance, a 401k retirement plan with employer match, life insurance, Flexible spending Account/FSA, Commuter benefits, and twenty-four days paid annual leave per year, plus four Summer Fridays and 12 other paid holidays.
