DevOps Engineer
Cadmus is seeking a DevOps Engineer to be part of our DevOps team supporting one of our federal programs. This candidate will design, automate, and maintain cloud infrastructure on AWS that supports the enterprise applications and the broader microservices ecosystem. The ideal candidate must have strong experience with AWS cloud infrastructure, IaC automation, microservices, containerization, CI / CD pipelines, security, and a solid understanding of F5 LTM / APM with the ability to write, review, and troubleshoot iRules.
The technology stack includes AWS (EC2, ECS Fargate, Lambda, S3, Route53, DynamoDB, AWS Serverless, SQS, SNS, SES), Python, Kong API Gateway, New Relic, Splunk, Datadog, Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, and F5 LTM / APM.
Responsibilities include collaborating daily within a fast-paced Agile DevOps team, implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform / Ansible across AWS services, fostering an automation-driven culture, developing and enhancing CI / CD pipelines, using F5 LTM / APM to configure traffic routing, access control, and load balancing rules, ensuring adherence to all CMS security, compliance, and governance requirements, supporting application operations, participating in the on-call rotation, executing patches, upgrades, deployments, and continuity-of-operations activities across environments, maintaining comprehensive documentation, engaging with architects and product teams, and participating in defining project timelines.
Qualifications include strong expertise in AWS cloud infrastructure, hands-on experience with F5 BIG-IP (LTM / APM), proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and Ansible, extensive experience with containerization and orchestration, strong Linux / RedHat administration skills, experience with microservices, API gateways and authentication / authorization standards, ability to debug applications built in Java, Node.js, and Python, experience working with relational and NoSQL databases, proficiency with observability and monitoring tools, strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills, experience working in Agile SAFe environments, and education / experience level including a Bachelor's degree in a technical field, 5+ years of application development or infrastructure engineering experience, 24 years of DevOps experience in AWS environments, 23 years of experience with enterprise monitoring, CI / CD pipelines, and automation tools, and 23 years of experience supporting complex applications.
Desired skills and experience include AWS certifications, experience in Canary deployments and Blue Green deployments, experience with ECS ? EKS migration, familiarity with AWS AI and machine learning services, and prior experience supporting federal programs or large enterprise environments.
